What our customers are saying

  • Excellent!

“We came to Chesterfield for a friend’s wedding and stayed in this guesthouse. We found it very lovely indeed! Clean rooms, a wonderful breakfast and the owner was friendly, interested in us (but not nosey!) and helpful. I’d certainly stay here again. Beds were very comfy. It was a lovely experience, it felt like staying in someone’s house! But in a very good way!”

  • Perfect Stay

“After being let down by another hotel, we ended up at the Old Rectory. How lucky we were! Perfect place to stay and very friendly and helpful. We stayed family room and had our own private courtyard. Exceptionally clean and breakfast was a real homely feel. Can’t wait for next visit.”

  • Breakfast was lovely

“Breakfast was lovely, and they turned the sub titles on the TV for me because I couldn’t hear the news which was thoughtful. The location was very quiet and restful.”

  • “Beautiful breakfast, served in a lovely new conservatory. The house is listed so some of the wood work and doors look old and the floor boards creak a lot, but it added to the charm. Perfect location for events at Staveley Hall, less than 1 minute walk away. It had all imaginable facilities in the room, toothbushes, hot chocolate, fresh cooled water, trays for dirty shoes etc etc. The furniture in the rooms were very impressive and turns out the owner had made it.”
